IT WAS A GOOD DAY!

Today was my second session of chemo. By the grace of God only 5 more to go. Today was a good day. Kat drove me to Laguna Beach at 9:30am. They plug in the i.v. right away and start to hydrate my system and add some anti-nausea meds and some kind of steroid. I have to tell you, the extra hydration has really helped. Then comes the Chemo. It takes about 90 mins. Then they hydrate me some more. Then I get a shot that helps save my salivary glands from damage from the radiation. It's now 12:30.

Today was a special treat driving to radiation. Joshua, my baby boy, drove me. He got to see the super way out machine. Looks like it's from Star Trek. I am really lucky though in one respect. I am literally bolted down to the table with this mask device they molded for me. Very necessary so I don't move. Why am I lucky? You ask. Well number one, I'm not claustrophobic. Some people have to take Valium or something to help them relax. Number two, I actually fell asleep for about 8 minutes of the 10 minute treatment. We got out of there at about 1:30. So you can see Tues. is a pretty intense day. Joshua then treated me to a frozen yogurt. My other days are about one and a half hours less.

It's good to be off the antibiotics. Even though nausea is still an issue, Dr. Wagner is doing a good job regulating all the meds. The weight issue was concerning me this weekend. I just wasn't able to eat enough to maintain. Dropped about 7 lbs. But since I have been feeling better I've been able to add 3 more back on. Thank you for all the prayers. James 5:16 says...Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

Also a heartfelt thanks to my friends Jim and Mary Stephens. You guys are truly awesome. I couldn't believe the timing. His timing is always prefect. The soup, the biscuits, the magazines, and of course, the ice cream. Same to you Nancy Severson. The soup was great and I could eat the toasted bread by letting it soak in the soup. Got really full. It felt good.

I'll try to check back in this weekend. I love and appreciate every one of you.

Old Jer

  3. Hey Bro,I Love You and talking to our Lord Jesus and our Father about you multiple times a day. I gotta tell you though your description of the therapy sounds like what they do to my radiator when they flush it out...are you sure your in the right place for this treatment?? ha ha just kidding, I can't wait for you to get the treatments done so you can kick my butt on the bike.

    ALL GOD's Promises
While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. GENESIS 8:22

"While the earth remains..." The Conclusion here is that the earth won't last forever, but the words that follow, God promises that as long as the earth remains, there will be certain constants: seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, day and night. We have confidence in these promises of GOD. I don't lose any sleep at night worried that it might not dawn a new day tomorrow.

Jesus said,"I will never leave you nor forsake you," but sometimes I worry that He just might do so. Just as I have great confidence that GOD will keep the earth spinning,I do my part in my mind as our Lord has so greatly shown us and given us the way of escape. I captivate the thought or crew member (more on that later) and toss it out and replace it with a good crew member/thought the WORD JESUS CHRIST our LORD and renew my mind.

Jer, I love you bro our Lord will heal you, he's not going to let you miss the grand finale. Boy are we living some exciting times, keep your eye on Israel they are at the center of everything satan wants to take them down, just like satan did with Herod when he tried to Kill the baby JESUS but didn't and can't and won't GOD is control of everthing your life and mine.

It is just amazing to watch the world get all upset about Israel moving in on Hamas but while the missels rained down on Israel not a word.

We don't wrestle against flesh and blood but powers and principalities in high places.

Our strength will rise as we wait upon the LORD
we will wait upon the LORD we wait upon the LORD our STRONG deliverer the defender of the week he will raise us up on wings of Eagles he won't grow weary it's impossible he is ever lasting.

Be of good courage Jer, we still have some occupying to do.

I will get by in the next few days and sneak you threw for a double double and shake, oh about the crew members...

thats an Analogy I use, a bad crew member is like a bad or negative thought... if your in a boat race with countless crew members that continually are being placed in your boat and when you get a slug you replace them with a new member if you don't the slugs pull the boat down and you lose the race, if you keep captivating and duping the bad, over time you have a boat of great crew members and occasionally a bad one that you dump, same goes for our personal hard drives with our thoughts bad and negative thoughts pull us down and we don't finish the race well. God bless You Jer looking forward to praying together.

    Love Patrick
